    Excellent

This is a wonderful book. Featuring elder models, it is a book of exercise/meditation for anyone, but emphasizing the abilities of older people. Research shows the need for meditation in maintaining good health--mental as well as physical--and these exercises feature both physical and mental focus allowing healing and wellness to result from following these instructions. I have been researching the benefits of mental exercise in the form of meditation along with the benefits of physical exercise as methods of healing or strengthening the important autoimune system. Many complaints of the aging body stem from AI disorders--IBS, lupus, certain thyroid disorders, and others (B&N offers some excellent books related to this subject) and solid scientific research shows these may be helped with meditation and exercise. This wonderful book combines both. These gentle exercises, friendly to older bodies, easy to perform, and with the added meditational component have the potential to provide great benefits to the bodies and minds and souls of those who devote time to them. And if you're not "older," you will begin a habit that will allow the years to accumulate with grace and strength and some day find yourself "older" and more fit and happier for benefiting from this book. Years ago, when I was working in a high-pressure litigation firm, I performed some of these exercises every morning and the benefits were phenomenal. I can't recommend the practices in this book highly enough!
