About the Author

Brian Boddie has dedicated his life to helping others and caring for the welfare of animals. His love of sports began with playing ball alongside his cousins and friends, eventually leading to participation in Little League and Senior Ball. His passion for sports continued through middle school, high school, and beyond. Tragically, an accident left him severely disabled at the height of his success as a school athlete, costing him several sports scholarships and a nomination to West Point. After a long period of recovery, Brian went on to play semi-pro baseball before settling down with a beautiful family. When he was no longer able to continue playing, his future father-in-law asked if he’d be interested in coaching Little League baseball. In a wonderful twist of fate, his first team included the son of his own high school baseball coach. Brian’s beloved first wife, Laura Nelson, shared his deep commitment to sports as a powerful tool for child development and wellbeing. Together, they welcomed their son, Michael, and later moved to Florida. Sadly, Laura passed away from illness in 2018. Following Hurricane Ian and a series of disabling injuries, including the loss of his left leg, Brian recovered at American House, where he met Amina. They quickly grew close and were married in 2023. Today, they live in South Florida near Michael, his wife Jessica, and their two grandchildren, Duncan and Chieftain. Brian’s story is one of resilience, love, and unwavering faith. His life serves as an inspiration, showing how belief in God and perseverance can help overcome even the most harrowing circumstances.
