Money, power, prestige...washout. Fox Coulter is...the Player.

There is no Plan B for Fox. All he has is hockey. All he's ever had is hockey. That and his best friend, Sasha. So when she's up rent creek with no roommate, it's Fox to the rescue. But, with the opportunity of a lifetime on the line will his hotter-than-sin-best friend be more of a distraction than his lucky charm?

Sasha Tenison believes everyone should have rules. Rules like:

•Don't ogle your best friend while he works out shirtless. It doesn't matter how many muscles or tattoos he has.

•Don't fantasize about what he tastes like, even if it's been years since anyone's kissed you.

•Don't sleep with your best friend just because he's hot, sexy, and the only one to ever believe in you.

Breaking even one of these rules will ruin everything. But one toe curling kiss from Fox and she's ready to change her name to Rule Breaker.

OMG!! another awesome read from Nana. Fox & Sasha have been attracted to each other for years but wouldn't act on it for fear of ruining what they have. Fate soon steps in and causes the to act on their feelings. I really enjoyed this book!

Genre: Romance - Sports, Friends-to-lovers Stand-alone: Yes Part of a Series: Yes - Book 4 of The Player Series POV: Dual Fox and Sasha Steam Level: Rather Toasty 5/5 This is the second book I've read by Nana Malone and once I was finished I checked out all of her other books. This is a fun book: witty, smart, and steamy. The topic that Sasha was exploring for her story/paper was fascinating and well-researched. The emotion was just right and it made me want to see more of Fox and Sasha. Because I read Ransom's book in the Hot on Ice Anthology (book 5 of the series) before I read Fox's story I feel like I've been let in on a secret before everyone else. I'm also definitely checking out books 1- 3 to catch up. Although this is book 4 you don't need to read books 1 - 3 to understand the story I just want to. Nana Malone is a great author and I look forward to discovering more of her work. I received an Advanced Copy of this book from the author and am voluntarily giving an honest review.

How do you tell to the must important person in your life, your best friend, that you want to have a different type of relationship with them. Since they where little kids they have been best friends and they know everything about each other and no matter what they are always there for the other, in good times and specially in the bad times. Fox whole world is hockey and his best friend Sasha, without them he is just a failed Coulter. But when a huge disappointment hits him hard, Sasha will prove the true meaning of friendship, she is the only one that can help him get back in track and accomplish everything he ever wanted. Sasha will keep him from destroying himself while he will help her in ways that she can only imagine. There is a true passion for the sport, the news, and specially for each other in this very different, full of twists, and passionate Coulter family story.

What a fox! This is one of the best in this series. The Coulter's are filthy rich but they all have some type of issue that makes them seem like normal real life people. I love best friends to lover themed romance books and the author a great job easing them into the next level of their friendship. They have a few bumps to iron out but both of them realize that at the end of day, this is the person who has always had my back, yes!!! Love, love, love this story!! An excellent addition to the series plus she's planted a seed for the next Coulter mystery just waiting to be solved/revealed.

Wow. This book continued the underlying theme of the player series, but without the family angst. It was a nice change of pace for the series. I loved watching Fox get inside of his head whenever he played hockey and with Sasha. He would literally talk himself out of doing things and not realize he was doing it. In hockey being inside his head sabotaged his ability to play as well as he could. With Sasha he would talk himself out of wanting more because he thought he wasn't good enough, she didn't want another relationship after her last one or she wouldn't take him seriously. This was a great friends to lovers book. We watched both characters dealing with what happens after a "one night stand"; not wanting it to ruin the friendship but both wanting more but thinking the other didn't and the fact that they were roommates. I really enjoyed the fact that Gramps took a break in this book. I love his meddling, but it was nice to watch them figure things out on their own both with each other and with their jobs. Looking forward to reading more about the Coulters in the future.

Can straight men and women have a strictly platonic relationship? (at least while they are both single and available). I've always wanted say, “of course”. From real life and reading, I have to say I am not so sure. I sure felt the non-platonic relationship with Fox and Sasha. Childhood friends, they'd grown up together, relied on each other, told their secrets to each other. Now, they've secretly lusted after each other. Neither wants to ruin their very important friendship. Fox lives Hockey. Unfortunately, he didn't make the team. His sports stars family didn't accept his sport, of choice, to not even get a team? He'd never hear the end. Oh, there'd be those who would sympathize—not what he wanted to hear. Sasha has finally ended it with her boyfriend of over a year. Too bad she still works with him. She has an internship at a sports publication. It goes along with the studies she is completing. Her thesis is even a topic relevant to her work: the pressure young players are under and put on themselves. She maintains that their failure can often be caused by that pressure. With her close relationship with Fox, her boss wants her to use him as her example, however, she won't do that to him. He is part of the reason she chose the topic, but she won't infringe on their friendship. And then one night...yep. A couple of drinks, a mushy movie, some truths about her lack of meaningful tender sex and it happened. The promises of it being a one-time thing...well you figure it out. Can they remain friends? Can they have a relationship? Can he be faithful to one? What impact will their families have on them? I love Fox, felt for him, cheered for his successes, and yes (sorry guy) felt sorry for his disappointments. One good thing about a romance, you know you're going to be happy for them in end. Read on to find out if they can find their HEA together.

Lifelong best friends find themselves living together after Sasha breaks up with her boyfriend, and Fox wants to help her out while trying to face his shortcomings as a hockey player, compared to the athletic glory of his family. The underlying romantic tensions overcomes, but can they make a go of it when real life happens?

Outsiders bonded in friendship, learn that it can be fun to break a few rules. Nana Malone can steal your heart, while setting your blood on fire. Her sensual brand of moving stories keep a reader on their toes and feening for more of that voodoo she does so well. Fox is a mad man on the ice. He plays hard, works harder and not afraid of a little vice. Sasha is his haven from the storm. She keeps his feet firmly in place, helping him through some of his darkest days. What happens when she needs his help? He just may end up losing his heart. A sweet treat for the soul.

It seems difficult to improve each one of the Coulter's book, but Nana did it again. Fox is struggling to get into a big team but something fail every time he tries, even his best friend Sasha don't know how to help him achieve his dream. Sasha is working hard to finish college, working and making an internship to pay the bills now that she dumped his boyfriend. Fox and Sasha have been friends since childhood and now they are facing a change in their relationship, can they be more than friends? This is Nana Malone at her best. Looking forward to the next one

Nana Malone is on fire with the player series. This is book 4 in the series, they just keep getting better. Fox and Sasha are best friends but feelings started getting in the way. Fox moves in with Sasha to help her out but the attraction just kept getting stronger. Until one kiss and all the links between friendship became friends with benefits. This book shows the vulnerability of Fox and the doubt that comes when your different. I was drawn into the story I felt all his pain along with Sasha. Let's not forget about the hot sex scenes and the cliffhanger has me on the edge of my seat.

I have to give Fox and Sasha 5 stars. Echo is still my favorite, but Fox runs a VERY close second. I really enjoyed Fox and Sasha's relationship. They genuinely liked each other, were supportive, and seemed to have fun together. I was also really glad to see that the grandfather wasn't in this book as much as the previous books. He is definitely not very likable. I didn't pity Fox in this book, but I was rooting for him to find his inner strength, his self assurance at the goal. This book evokes a number of emotions. It was sweet, sassy, fun, sexy, and steamy. There was a bit of suspense, maybe more of a "hold your breath" moment after the college party. I did enjoy the little hint at the end of the book about things to come. I voluntarily read and reviewed this Advanced Copy.
