Zeth Mayfair is pretty much the very last thing I need in my life. And yet with every breath I take he becomes more engrained in every aspect of it:

He has a key to my house.

He knows where I work.

He dumped his strange, mentally traumatized housemate on my doorstep and has driven off into the sunset in search of my missing sister.

I want to forget him. Want to change the locks and blot out his face, scourge his very name from my memory. The problem is that I also need him. I need him more than I need air to breath, and I can’t be without him now.

He owns me.

He torments me.

He’s fractured me.

Wow.. What a great second book to this series. I absolutely loved it. I love the good girl bad boy story line. This by far has been the hottest series I've read in a long time.  I'll be sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for Burn to come out next.

Review Of Fracture (Blood & Roses Series Book #2) By Callie

Review Of Fracture (Blood & Roses Series Book #2) By Callie Hart

Fracture is a great next step in the Zeth and Sloane saga. I loved how Chapter One shows you Zeth doesn't play games when it comes to getting the information he seeks. Deviant (Book #1) left Sloane in a very flustered state which continues in Chapter Two of Fracture right where Author Callie Hart left us with our jaw hanging open. Callie has a way of making her characters come alive.

Sloane Romera tries to come to grips with her feelings for Zeth. When he leaves town for a while, Sloane is left to babysit Zeth's house guest Lacey. Sloane and Lacey soon discover what it feels like to live in Zeth's world. Sloane knowing all this, still runs to Zeth in the hopes that he can protect her and Lacey.

Zeth Mayfair is a lethal man on a dangerous mission to find Sloane's sister Lex and bring her home. Zeth is starting to discover his feelings for Sloane are anything but fleeting. In Zeth's world feelings could mean a death sentence because in his line of work emotions get you a one way ticket to the grave.

One wrong slip and I could ruin this series for everybody but just know there is a lot more going on in this book. Not only do we get a bigger glimpse into Zeth's past but we learn more about Lacey and Sloane starts to discover just how resilient she really is. If you are looking for a new author who writes believable stories with realistic characters than Callie Hart is that author. On a scale from 1-5 I give Fracture an off the scale 10. She has a rare gift for superb storytelling. EVERYONE adult 18+ needs to run out an pick up a copy of Fracture. If you haven't read Deviant Book #1 (review below) you should pick up a copy of that book as well. If you  are looking for a dark romance, life altering decisions, loyalty, and just an all around fabulous story than Fracture is the book for you. Come learn why Sloane and Zeth can't stay away from each other.

Review: Blood and Roses #2: Fracture

Fracture by Callie Hart is the second book in her Blood & Roses series.

We pick up Zeth & Sloane's story with a scene between Zeth and one of Julio's henchmen. It's a foreshadowing of what's to come as the next chapter starts three weeks earlier than that. Zeth and Sloane are at Sloane's house and she is trying to arrange for her best friend Pippa to take on Lacey as an off-the-books patient. Never mind that Zeth is seducing her while she's ON the phone with her best friend. There is something so sublime about their mutual disfunctionality. I love it. I love him and his wicked, dark, bad-boy ways. Sloane is tough and good and keeps finding herself shocked with her own behavior with Zeth. She acts like she can't stand him to his face but the BOTH know different. She cannot stop thinking about him day or night, work or not.

He really needs to get Lacey help with Pippa, Sloane's psychiatrist best-friend. He also needs to get Sloane's sister out of Julio's compound. Lord only knows what condition she's in after two-years as a sex slave. He has a plan, but even the best laid plans have a habit of failing or going horribly wrong.

I absol-freaking-lutely LOVE these characters and am already ticked that I'm gonna have to wait to read more. Fabulous!

"I'm not thinking about what will happen....
I'm only thinking one thing: She came to find me."

I picked up the Deviant on a whim one day to read and got sucked in from beginning to end.

Now with Fracture the same thing has happened. This book kept me on the edge of my seat with wondering what was going to happen next!! Sloane's world was turned upside down when Zeth Mayfair walked into her life.

One thing Zeth did not expect to do was to start to have feelings for Sloane and to realize that she could be the one to glue him back together.

*This book is for readers 18+ due to strong language and sexual content.

I absolutely LOVED this book! I was enthralled in the story from start to finish. I love Zeth and Sloane, their chemistry is off the charts HOT!

“You’re perfection, angry girl. No need to huff and puff. I’m going to take care of you.”

Fracture starts off with a gritty scene showing just how far Zeth will go to get what he wants…

Backup three weeks and we’re back to where Deviant left off. Sloane is talking to Pippa arranging for her to meet Zeth to discuss treatment for Lacey. Zeth is being very creative trying to distract her on the phone and Holy Hell what Zeth can do with a freezer pop….

“Let me tell you this: you may think you have been horny before. You may think you have been ready to beg, to plead, to straight up murder to feel someone inside you, but until you’ve had this…until Zeth Mayfair is on his knees for you…”

Zeth still in the process of finding Sloane’s sister, stumbles upon some unsettling truths of his past. The people who once he called his family are now turning out to be his enemy. Who does he trust? And how can keep Sloane safe and still be able to find her sister, he will stop at nothing…

Sloane still going about her life and trying to figure out what in the hell is going on with Zeth. She knows she should stay away from him but she simply can’t. Her body and heart won’t let her.

Zeth needs to disappear for a few weeks and asks Sloane to watch Lacey… During this time Lacey’s secrets are revealed throwing Sloane off balance a little. She still feels unsettle and isn’t sure if she should trust Zeth to hold true to his promise of finder her sister while he’s away.

"You can trust me. You gave yourself to me back at my apartment; I’ve never done it before, but I gave myself in return. I may not have wanted to, Sloane, but I didn’t have a fr#!@ng choice in the matter. That means we belong to each other now. And it means I’ll come back for you soon…”

The sex scenes were scorching but I really enjoyed watching Zeth come to terms with his feelings for Sloane… He’s possessive, hot headed, deadly but oh so delicious….

“I’ll kill him for daring to breathe the same air as her,” I gasp, my chest heaving. “I’ll kill him just for looking at her wrong.”

I loved the story line, which allows you to get a better understanding on what Zeth has gone through to make him the man he is today.

I’m addicted to this series and I can’t wait for more!

    `OMG she did it again!
Callie Hart managed to hook me from the very first to the very last page… AGAIN!
Fracture picks up right where Deviant left off and holy shizzle is it hot.  I will never ever look at a bubble gum Popsicle the same way again!
The heat factor in this book is still sizzling and Zeth definitely does NOT lack in the creativity department.
In Fracture, we get more in depth into Lacey’s past and trying to get her some help, as well as trying to find Sloane’s sister. Sloane still doesn’t know him well and doesn’t know if she can trust him to follow through on his promise to try to find her sister.

Zeth thinks he knows where she is but he needs to be careful. The people who were once his allies and like family, are now turning out to be the enemy. He doesn’t know who he can trust and who he can’t. One thing he knows is that he will do whatever it takes to find Sloane’s sister no matter what danger is involved. I mean, obviously, that is not going to stop Zeth. He is the freaking definition of danger.
    White hot…sexy…steamy…kinky…delicious…danger!
And Sloane knows he's dangerous but can’t stay away from him. She is confused and doesn’t even know how to act around him. Even when her BFF is constantly in her ear warning her off of Zeth and telling her she needs to not only protect her heart but herself as well. But does Sloane listen? No, she doesn’t. She can’t…physically can’t turn away from Zeth. Her body betrays her mind at every turn and leaves her even more frustrated.
"Let me tell you this: you may think you have been horny before. You may think you have been ready to beg, to plead, to straight up murder to feel someone inside you, but until you’ve had this…until Zeth Mayfair is on his knees for you…"
As much as Zeth wants to keep Sloane out of the situation and out of danger…he can’t. She has plopped herself right dead in the middle of it and there is nothing Zeth can do to get her out without her (and him) winding up dead.
I’m not going to give anymore details away in the story line because you need to experience it. Just know that you are in for a ride.
You will get the heat that you crave, the danger that intrigues you, and the ending that will, without a doubt, leave you needing more.

¿The sharp, stimulating and provocative edge of the knife.¿

    My rating: 4.5 of 5 ¿¿

For the past little while Zeth has ingratiated himself into Sloan's life in every way possible. And even though every sane thought in her mind objected, her body and heart did not seem to be able to resist. He pushed and withdrew until he had me seeking him out, knowing full well he held the ultimate key - the ability to find my long lost sister.

Becoming aware of the impact Sloan was having on him, Zeth found himself driven to have and protect her at all cost. But with his promise to help locate her sister, the breakdown of trust with his uncle and his unstable roommate, his resources were spread thin. And it put everything he was fighting for at risk...

    *****

    Deliciously complex and salacious!!

Callie Hart follows up her first installment DEVIANT, with a no less impactful second novella FRACTURE that picks up the controversial story of Sloane and Zeth.

Sloane is a resident physician, who has been searching for her missing sister and has given herself as 'plaything' to Zeth, a henchman in organized crime, in return for help finding her. Zeth's penchant for control extends to his sexual preferences and he makes that implicitly clear right off the bat, which is entirely against Sloane's good senses. However, she finds herself almost involuntarily responding to his commands, and finds to her surprise, that she has the ability to shake his tight control from time to time.

This book holds some interesting new twists that bring answers to some open questions left after DEVIANT. Although not fully explored, they offer a fuller context and backdrop that only promise a richer fabric against which the entire story of Zeth and Sloane will be told.

I am eager to see where Callie Hart will take this gritty love adventure. An absolute treat to devour!!!

¿The sharp, stimulating and provocative edge of the knife.¿

    Amazing Read
    Wow, Wow, Wow.
For anyone who has reading Callie Hart's first book in the series Deviant (book1) know's how eagerly awaited this book is.
And let me start by saying you will not be disappointed. This book is outstanding. It is brillantly written. The pace is just right. It entralled me from the beginning.
We are taken staight in to Zeth and Sloane and let me tell you you will not be disappointed in content of this story. That is as much as you are going to get out of me for what happens in this story. I do not give spoilers. What I will say is this, when you start to read this make sure you are in a lockable room because you WILL NOT want to be disturbed.
I love Sloane and Zeth i think that they are prefectly matched. I also think that everyone should have a Zeth of there own.
Callie Hart is one of my favourite authors and I CAN NOT wait for the next book.
Callie this book is fantastically written. The characters are amazing. It had me on the edge of my seat the whole time I was reading it. It pulled every emotion- I screamed shouted, ooh and arh. This book is exceptional. The only bit that I didnt like was that it finished.
This definitley needs to be added to your "TBR" list. And is so worth 5/5 stars.
This book was gifted by the author in exchange for an honest review

Fracture picks up where Deviant left off and we’re immediately thrown back into the dark and twisted world that surrounds Zeth Mayfair. He may be cold and calculating, but he’s drawn to Sloane in a way that he can’t describe. Hell, he couldn't even fight it if he wanted to.

Sloane tries to deny Zeth at every possible turn, but her attempts are futile. He’s a part of her whether she wants him to be or not, and now she’s finding herself being pulled into the darkness that surrounds him as well. Being on the run? Check. Always looking over your shoulder? Check. Having to play the role of a hooker? Wait. What?! I guess you’re just going to have to read to find out, won’t you?

When I read Deviant, the first installment to this serial, I was left wanting more. Well, I’m happy to announce that I was able to find that with Fracture!

Callie took us deeper into Zeth’s world and the criminal activity that he’s involved in, and I personally loved it. Betrayals, being thrown off course, altercations … it kept things interesting.

I found myself liking Zeth more now than I originally did. Sure, he’s still an epic douche-bag at times, but you can see that behind the mask that he constantly wears, he really does care for both Sloane and Lacey. And that’s what ultimately drives him; at least for now.

We do get a bit of insight and back story into Lacey which I rather enjoyed. We knew from Deviant that something horrible must have happened to her, and we were able to get a glimpse of that here. I still think there’s a lot more to her than what she’s revealed in Fracture, and I can’t wait to see where she goes as the story progresses.

Sloane is gaining a bit more of a back bone with each installment and I like that. She’s confused by how she feels when she’s with Zeth and the situations that she’s constantly finding herself in are less than ideal. I’m really looking forward to seeing how she develops as the story continues.

I would rate this book 4 stars. Fracture took my original thoughts on this serial and tossed them out of the window. I now find myself invested in the story and wanting to see what happens next.

Yes, they are shorter stories than what I’m used to. No, I’m not a fan of serials. Yes, I will continue to read each installment as it’s released. If Callie continues on this path and is able to make each one better than the last, then she definitely has a reader in me.

*This book was given to me for an honest review. The fact that it was given to me in no way reflects what I rate a book.*
