Phyllis R. Klotman is Professor of Afro American Studies and American and Film Studies, and Founding Director of the Black Film Center/Archive at Indiana University. She has published five books and over 30 articles and essays on African American literature and film, including Frame by Frame: A Black Filmography and Screenplays of the African American Experience. Gloria J. Gibson, Associate Professor of Afro American Studies, is Assistant Director of the Black Film Center/Archives and Director of the Archive of Traditional Music. She has published numerous articles in the area of black cinema and specifically black women’s cinema.
