Overview

Muscle and joint conditions have surpassed the common cold as the number one reason for physician visits in the United States, with lower back pain leading the charge. If you suffer from lower back pain, you know the frustration of having to miss out on activities you enjoy and the difficulty finding an exercise program that does not exacerbate your pain or symptoms.

In his first book, FrameWork, renowned sports medicine physician Dr. Nicholas DiNubile provided readers with cutting-edge strategies for safely starting, maintaining, and building a lifestyle and exercise program designed to promote optimum muscle, bone, and joint function and health. Now in the first installment of his FrameWork Active for Life series, Dr. DiNubile provides lower back pain sufferers with a specific plan for treating and preventing sprains, strains, disk problems, arthritis, sciatica, and other injuries. Beginning with an explanation of the causes, preventive strategies, and treatment of common lower back problems, FrameWork for the Lower Back includes:

A comprehensive pre-exercise screening questionnaire to assess your risk of lower back problems and having a "back attack"

A tailor-made exercise plan incorporating innovative exercises that can be done at home or in the gym

Nutritional and lifestyle advice designed to reduce pain and fortify the muscles, joints, and bones of the lower back

    put back pain to rest

I watched my husband being in pain for weeks - he was not comfortable thinking about excercising and was worried about pain. After reviewing content of this book, I bought it for him together with DVD from the same author. He read this book cover to cover, made his recovery plan and started excercising every day. 1 week later he was a not afraid to go from recovery to regular excercise level. 2 weeks later he is a happy camper making sure we workout everyday for a long as we can. I don't have a back problem, but love the workout too, the book made us both aware of bad and good things for our back and how to keep it in shape.
