Overview

For the first time we come to know the complex, generous, controversial, charismatic man behind the elusive image. Much has been written about Francis Albert Sinatra - but the truth behind his agonies and triumphs is now revealed with the intimate understanding that only his daughter posesses.

Editorial Reviews

Library Journal
In time for Sinatra's 70th birthday, his daughter Nancy has written a loving portrait she insists is not a whitewash. Calling herself a collector rather than a biographer, Nancy has covered Frank's life and career with her own reminiscences and those of dozens of Sinatra's family and friends to emphasize his exceptional talent, generosity, and sensitivity. She makes no attempt to hide Frank's battles with the press, womanizing, and pranks but does refute the continuing allegation of mob connections. Occasionally vague and not too well organized, this inside look into Sinatra family life is still interesting and entertaining. Illustrated with hundreds of photographs, many in color, this is an expensive book, but it will be in demand. Marcia L. Perry, Berkshire Athenaeum, Pittsfield, Mass.
