    Great series!

My four year old daughter fell in love with Franny when we checked out the Frantastic Voyage audiobook from our local library. She is now determined that we read all the books so I bought this set for her. The stories are funny and even my husband and I enjoy Franny and her experiments. Great book series!!

    Great book for young readers.

The books in this series are wonderful for children who are being read to or are beginning readers. Franny K. Stein is a mad scientist who doesn't quite fit in with the kids at school, since she's almost always closeted in her room with mad-scientist experiments. In the stories, she usually takes offense at something, gets herself into trouble, and then manages to get out of it, having learned a lesson about herself and others. There are loving and understanding adults in the background, but the stories really are about Franny. The chapters are brief. The pictures are vivid and clever. The chapter titles are humorous and may take a little explanation for the young child, but that's not a detraction. This is probably a good book for someone in the 5- to 8-year-old range.
