Overview

Freaknic is coming!  No, not the real thing - the black college version of spring break.  It’s Freaknic, the novel.  Norman Chester, college computer guru, develops a decryption program that breaks entry codes to secure websites.  While giving the software a road test, he stumbles upon a plot by urban terrorists to bomb Freaknic into oblivion.  When Norman turns up dead, and the Atlanta Police pass it off as just another drive-by shooting, Maddie Kincaid, his girlfriend, says, "No way!"  So, with the help of a rag-tag bunch of fraternity brothers, she takes matters into her own hands.  While searching for a killer in the underbelly of Atlanta, Georgia, Maddie also finds that she and Dottie, two women from opposite sides of the tracks, have more similarities than differences.  Set in the backdrop of the teeming Atlanta Metropolitan Area, Freaknic is a gripping, yet unsettling suspense story that will also titillate the sexual sensibilities.

    Freaknic's tha' bomb!

Just a sex-filled tale about freaky college students is what the average person would expect from a novel entitled Freaknic. Surprisingly, I found that you can¿t always judge a book by its misleading cover. Although Freaknic has its steamy sensuous side, to my surprise, the story was filled with mystery, suspense, and unexpected turmoil. After reading it, I felt that my money had definitely not been wasted. I can¿t remember the last time I read a book that was totally unpredictable. Usually a book's cover will tell you exactly what will happen inside and exactly how it will end. However, Freaknic, with its beautiful beginning, mayhem middle, and triumphant ending, is more than I had expected. With anticipation at the turn of every page, you won¿t be able to put it down. Freaknic is not only for the romantic reader, it is also for the reader of mystery, the reader of intellect, and let us not forget the male reader. Let¿s face it ladies, how many books can you and your significant other equally enjoy? Freaknic is satisfying to both the male and female readers. Freaknic is here! You¿d better catch it while you can!
