This is a blistering album that could only be better if it made your ears bleed. It's leaves you no alternative then to turn it up and leave it there until the dry wall starts to come down from the ceiling. Great album, Greats bands, Great movie.

The much-anticipated cinematic face-off between two of horror’s most prominent monsters may prove unsatisfactory for some, but the soundtrack to Freddy VS. Jason will more than make up for the disappointment. This 20-track compilation features some of the most notorious names in metal, as well as a nice variety of promising young newcomers. Rookies like Ill Nino and Seether in particular do a fine job of holding their own, especially when held against the standards set by such metal forefathers as Slipknot and Powerman 5000. Whether new or old, the groups on this disc have been hurled together to more-or-less redefine the term “hard-core,” spewing out thrashing guitar chords and piercing screams that will keep your eardrums well in line for a good few days. Only several exceptions are found that make for fairly soft intermissions from the nearly perpetual brutality of this album — Nothingface’s “Ether” leans a good distance away from the general roar of its accompanying tracks, and the disc closes with a seven-minute ballad-like number (“We Were {Electrocute}”) from Type O Negative. Showcasing songs such as Killswitch Engage’s “When Darkness Falls,” Slipknot’s “Snap,” Murderdoll’s “Welcome to the Strange,” and Seether’s “Out of My Way,” Fvs.J is truly an album that must be given shelter in the home of every metal scene devotees’ collection. As for the listeners who are somewhat new to the scene, they may want to wait a while, or at least keep the volume at a tolerable level before introducing this album to their possibly still-fragile psyches.

The Freddy Vs. Jason soundtrack is one of the best produced nu-metal mixes out there. All the bands that play on the album are some of the best nu-metal bands around. Although, the track list is messed up because it mixes up the band's names, like for example the first track is by Ill Nino and such. But they're all correct on the back of the album anyways.
