In many ways, Frederic Mompou resembled Chopin. He composed almost entirely for the piano. Like Chopin, he was gifted with a fabulous technique. And like Chopin, he had an instinctive feel for just the right chord in just the right place. However, Mompou's works do not demonstrate any keyboard pyrotechnics. In this, he is closer to Satie. For those who love piano music, this CD is a perfect introduction to a wonderful Spanish composer. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
