The Big Bad Wolf is running a successful scam on Little Red's Grandma until Little Red catches him in the act.

In this free short story Big Bad Wolf is running a successful scam on Little Red's Grandma until Little Red catches him in the act.

If you like this sample story, look for The Newfangled Fairy Tales series.  Each fairy tale in the series puts a delightful new spin on classic stories and themes. King Midas is a workaholic banker who would rather play with his money than attend his son's Little League baseball games. The Three Bears invade Goldy's house because their forest home is being stripped to build a super highway. A Prince refuses to marry any of the grumpy princesses who lost sleep because there were peas under their mattresses. A clever princess pays a dragon to lose a fight so she can marry the man she loves. The twenty short stories in this series are lots of fun.

"Here is a new generation of fairy tales to make children laugh, not hide under the covers."
--Stephen Mooser, author of Young Marion's Adventures in Sherwood Forrest:  A Girl's to the Rescue Novel

This is a new retake on a great old fairy tale. It was super funny and made me laugh. Wish other books by this author were free. You need to read this book.

I laughed the whole way through the intro but then didn’t enjoy the story. I love that Mr. Lansky took the idiosyncrasies of some of our favorite fairy tales and brought them into today’s world, because while I love fairy tales, I’d hate for my daughter or nieces to think that they need a man to rescue them! But this story fell a bit short for me. It was cute, no doubt, just not as much fun as I was expecting and I really had trouble keeping the kids interested – even though it was short. I’ll absolutely try a few of the others but this one just didn’t click for me.

i love these stories, they are not the traditional fairy tails but they are a very funny spin off of them and i love reading them myself, my child thinks they are funny too.

A nifty take on fairy tales. I would like to read the rest of them, if I could find them.

I loved fairy tales as a kid, fractured fairy tales when older. and just loved the stories in this. Thoroughly, mostly modern, I think children will find something of themselves in each story.
