Editorial Reviews

Library Journal
As presented in this book, the definition of "freeform embroidery" is unclear; it includes embroidering on preprinted fabric. Beverley (Brilliant Bags) takes both novice and experienced stitchers through the full process of embroidering, from selection of thread and fabric to mounting and displaying the work. Like other volumes in the series, the information is organized topically in a Q&A format. A number of stitch types are presented, including several less-well-known techniques, but there's not a lot of depth—just enough to pique interest. While this is a good resource with useful information, some stitchers may find the author's disparaging remarks about counted cross-stitch off-putting and unnecessary.
