Overview

Learn how to master the art of creating simple, elegant, and chic French interiors with Carolyn Westbrook’s The French-Inspired Home.

Carolyn Westbrook is a designer and decorator whose love affair with French styling began long before she ever traveled to France. Growing up in the US, her Southern heritage was infused with French influences—from the chic elegance of New Orleans to the romance of southern plantation houses. Carolyn’s subsequent journeys to France have only fueled her passion for French interiors and have influenced her designs and interiors ever since. “The French Inspired” has become her own signature style. Carolyn’s stunning plantation house, a sleek urban apartment, and a classically elegant town house showcase a variety of distinct styles that will leave you enamored with all that is French. Whether she has used a distressed and gilded mirror that oozes elegance, or a faded and frayed rug that exudes rustic charm, all of these ideas are essentially “French” in their inspiration. Carolyn Westbrook prides herself on these classic and timeless French-inspired interiors, and rather than reflecting the latest trends, she hopes they inspire longevity and a true romance with your own home. The French have mastered the art of this time-worn, yet sophisticated, style of living, and you too will fall in love with the colors, the textures, and the inspiration that is truly French.

This book is my favorite yet from my favorite designer Carolyn Westbrook. I love her style and if you like a book that offers glorious photography on EVERY page and loaded with helpful advice and inspiration then this book is for you. It is Carolyn's second branded book and the title is Carolyn Westbrook The French Inspired Home, not simply The French Inspired Home. Thought mention of her copying someone else's title was a bit much, since I am sure that the publisher makes that decision. I was able to meet Carolyn in Roundtop and she is delightful and her style is always trendsetting...definitely leading the pack. Buy it...you won't regret it.

I LOVE my newest Carolyn Westbrook book! It's fantastic - the writing - the photography - the DESIGN STYLE that is unique to Carolyn Westbrook!!! Carolyn is a trendsetter... I believe that someone mentioned "copy cat"... but I am thinking they are writing the wrong review on the wrong book! Carolyn proves yet again in her book that she is always one step ahead in the design department. A must have for your library! This book is fantastic - from beginning to end!

Was someone asleep when Carolyn Westbrook decided to steal the title of her book from a book that was already published? Kaari Meng of French General wrote a book with this same title over five years ago....looks like the Library of Congress could have to pull this book off of the market - shame on you Carolyn! A Fan of creativity - not copy cats!
