Overview

Carolyn Westbrook brings you her first-hand knowledge, acquired through years of combing French flea markets for unique treasures, of what makes a beautiful French interior. Designer and decorator Carolyn Westbrook's love affair with all that is French inspired began long before she ever travelled to France. Growing up in the US, her Southern heritage was infused by French influences - from the chic elegance of New Orleans to the romance of southern plantation houses. Subsequent travels to France filled her with a passion that has influenced her designs and interiors ever since and 'The French Inspired' has become her own signature style. Immerse yourself in her own beautiful plantation house, a sleek urban apartment or a classically elegant town house. Each home featured has its own distinctive style, but all are essentially 'French' in their inspiration, whether it comes from a distressed, gilded carved mirror, or a faded, frayed rug that exudes age in just the right places and could never be purchased from a department store. Carolyn Westbrook prides herself on these French-inspired interiors that are classic and timeless but never stuffy. These interiors are not about the latest trends, but meant to inspire longevity and a true romance with your own home. The French have mastered the art of this time-worn yet sophisticated style of living, and you too will fall in love with the colours, the textures and the inspiration that is truly French.

    FABULOUS!

This book is my favorite yet from my favorite designer Carolyn Westbrook. I love her style and if you like a book that offers glorious photography on EVERY page and loaded with helpful advice and inspiration then this book is for you. It is Carolyn's second branded book and the title is Carolyn Westbrook The French Inspired Home, not simply The French Inspired Home. Thought mention of her copying someone else's title was a bit much, since I am sure that the publisher makes that decision. I was able to meet Carolyn in Roundtop and she is delightful and her style is always trendsetting...definitely leading the pack. Buy it...you won't regret it.

    A DESIGN MUST HAVE!

I LOVE my newest Carolyn Westbrook book! It's fantastic - the writing - the photography - the DESIGN STYLE that is unique to Carolyn Westbrook!!!

Carolyn is a trendsetter... I believe that someone mentioned "copy cat"... but I am thinking they are writing the wrong review on the wrong book! Carolyn proves yet again in her book that she is always one step ahead in the design department.

A must have for your library! This book is fantastic - from beginning to end!

    Stolen Book Title!

Was someone asleep when Carolyn Westbrook decided to steal the title of her book from a book that was already published? Kaari Meng of French General wrote a book with this same title over five years ago....looks like the Library of Congress could have to pull this book off of the market - shame on you Carolyn!

A Fan of creativity - not copy cats!
