A story of lies, secrets and deadly mind games

Brilliant American psychology student Madison Faber is in police custody - a potential murder suspect. Two hours ago she found her roommate lying in a pool of blood.

Special Agent Ingrid Skyberg is assigned to investigate the case on behalf of the US embassy. Tasked with supporting a terrified Madison Faber and uncovering the truth behind her friend's death, Ingrid quickly discovers a sinister extremist group operating out of Faber's London college.

Up against the obstructive attitude of the Metropolitan Police and defying the wishes of the embassy, Ingrid must navigate through a minefield of fear and mistrust to discover the killer's true identity. But in order to ensure justice is served, she is forced to operate so far beyond the law that she may never get back again.

If you love books by Lee Child and Michael Connelly, and you've been waiting for an FBI heroine to rival Clarice Starling and Dana Scully, the Ingrid Skyberg FBI Thriller series might be just what you're looking for.

A NEW FBI HEROINE
Fresh Doubt is the second in a series of thrillers set in the American embassy in London. If a US citizen gets into trouble, Agent Skyberg is on hand to fix things - by any means necessary.

This 300 page murder mystery is well edited, has a good flow and a decent plot. Unfortunately, I could not get interested in this book. It was bone dry. It was like eating breakfast cereal without milk. I tried very hard to like it. I read seven chapters, then started skipping pages, then skipping and scanning. It never got any better, just plodded along at a snail's pace. I gave up, read the last two chapters and considered it done. This book seems to have had all the flavor sucked out of it and the substance is left behind. There are some adult topics. Perhaps other readers will enjoy this more than I did. Ingid has the personality of a manniquin. Ages 18 and up. AD

Conversations leading nowhere, questions unanswered, .... this book is so boring in its' storytelling. I could not finish it...I didn't care enough about the characters and became quite bored with Ingrid being beaten up then making a rapid recovery over and over.

Outrageous that the perp could only be sent to prison as a result of phony charges based on illegally planted evidence. And truly sad that the author has such a warped understanding of how the FBI and law enforcement officers in general investigate real crimes and pursue real criminals. Two thumbs down.

A solid tale with multiple twists. Some degree of difficulty in keeping track of two different cases as well as a personal mystery. Loved the ending!

Dull waste of time

The dark? Got real tiresome when answers, even hints were not forthcoming. Got bored beyond belief, skipped ahead + still did not give a crap. Don't waste your ti me - wish I didn't.

The American detective on loan to the U.K. for several months seems to have difficulty acting rather than reacting all the time. It was frustrating waiting for her to see a clue and act and to get this story to move a little faster.

Still too many loose ends. Subjects started but not answered. The passport frauds? Her fiance? Mills and her? All a bit confusing but intriguing none the less.

Total waste of my time. I finished reading it because I wanted to verify I knew the ending, I did. If the FBI operatives are as stupid as this one we may be in trouble! Everyone beat her up and she never had a defense! Won't be reading any more of this author!

Had a love/hate relationship with this book. The twists and turns of the plot were brilliant. Really liked the main character. However at times the writing was a bit dry. The secondary investigation had me puzzled as it kept going nowhere.

Good read. Very well done. Needs a little more finesse on the other characters she's developed. They seem an awkward fit at times. But overall a good book.

Very slow start and pretty unbelievable. I almost quit reading it, but stuck it out. It did pick up towards the end, but i wouldn't recommend it.
