I received this as a gift a couple years ago and I love it. It is beautiful, and has a wonderful approach to seasonal recipes that helps anyone's desire to eat local. There are little stories about the vegetables, tips on planting in your garden, and ideas for how to use those northwest delicacies like nettle and dandelion greens. However, the recipes are also really tasty. My favorite is the sorrel and bok choy stir fry with Thai chili sauce. I have to confess that I never sorrel on hand but it is delicious with just the onions and baby bok choy. But how about rhubarb chard and mustard sauce? Hmm? Mmmm! Among the highly competitive market for cookbooks, and my full cookbook shelf, I often pull this one out for inspiration and very successful easy dishes. bon appetit!
