    Perfect for you or as a gift!

    I found this small gift book during an emotionally devastating year, & the title drew my heart like a magnet. Still, I had no idea when I brought it home what an amazing journey of hope & healing I was embarking on. On those days when I could barely manage to crack open a devotional this book reminded me that God's love was ever-present. There's no doubt in my mind that this is inspired writing. Cheryl begins each section with a an inspiring quote, adds a perfect Scripture & then concludes with a psalm-like poem written from the perspective of our Abba Father's heart. I've never encountered devotions that draw my heart as these do. Cheryl has certainly captured God's nature of mercy, grace & love in this amazing book. Over the years, I've often struggled with what to give a brokenhearted friend - I'll never wonder again; this is the perfect gift. It's also the perfect devotional for anyone longing for a few moments of knowing as they are known because Cheryl's prose offers a peek behind the veil. When you order, don't forget to get one for yourself, too!

    A Book from the Mind of Christ

    This little book is a wonderful peek into the mind and spirit of Christ as comforter, counselor, and paraclete. It embraces you verbally into the arms of Jesus and soothes your troubled thoughts and unanswered questions. For anyone who has been steeled in their faith by fiery trials, this is a book to cherish. Cheryl Ricker has done a wonderful job and should submit this book for an award!

    A Book of Comfort

    I received this book for review on the day I was to attend my sister's memorial service. Her death was a surprise and Cheryl Ricker's little book offered comfort as I rode in the car to the service. When I planned to review this book I had no idea I was going to be in need of it. Two months later my father also passed away and this book, read in snippets when I needed to hear God's comfort, became a part of my quiet reading time. If you know someone who needs a friend in the storm they happen to be going through, this will make a wonderful and thoughtful gift.

    Wonderful, inspiring, uplifting!

    This is a small but powerful book packed with rich treasures. Ricker's gift to compose delightful prose will touch and encourage the soul of any hurting individual. I don't know how anyone could give this beautiful book anything less than five stars. Although I'm not going through any overtly stressful events at the moment, this book brought me nearly to tears as I read each lovely poem (as if written from God's point of view) and the accompanying scripture and unique quote. Each page of this priceless little gem will bring peace and reassurance. I highly recommend it for anyone experiencing heartache, pain, loss, or suffering. Let the words speak to your spirit. You will definitely find refreshment and strength.

    Comfort During Our Storms

    Most of us, at one time or another, go through times of suffering or hurts. Whether alone of with others, suffering is hard. The hope and encouragement we need is found on every page of A Friend in the Storm, a poetry gift book by Ms. Ricker. The two verse poems are perfect to lift us up and give comfort in the times of our storms. This book will always be close by for the times I need support and comfort. Whether for yourself or a friend, this book is a winner.

    A Beautiful Book

    Cheryl Ricker's poetry is profound and tender without being preachy. To this she's added thoughtfully chosen scriptures and quotes from great minds. The book itself is printed on quality paper, cloth bound with a ribbon marker, and beautifully illustrated, inside and out. It is a great gift for anyone you wish to gently encourage, including yourself.

    Great gift book

    "A Friend in the Storm' by Cheryl Ricker is a lovely collection of quotes, scripture verses and original poetry focused on times of storm in our lives. A single quote and scripture verse always accompanies Ms. Ricker's poetry and related through the topic of the poem. The poems are short, just two stanzas and most are written from the point of view of the Lord speaking/comforting you with His promises. They are beautifully written and gentle in tone. The term 'heartfelt' has been used a lot in the description of this book and I would have to agree. The book takes you on a journey from some of the lowest times and concludes with the finding of hope, bliss, freedom and the last poem is aptly titled 'Complete'. Ms. Ricker covers a great quantity of topics, 45 to be exact, in this little book and I wish there was an index to help with a quick look up of verse to suit a specific need. This little book would make a lovely gift book for anyone going through a difficult time in their lives. I received a free copy of this book for purpose of this review. The opinions shared are my own.

    I received this wonderfully refreshing book, A Friend in the Storm, by Cheryl Ricker, compliments of Litfuse Publicity for my honest review. I think everyone would love to have this simply gift book to have when life hands us the unexpected or as a gift to a friend enduring their own personal storm. What a comfort and encouragement it is to draw comfort not only from a poem but a personal scripture that goes right to the heart of what that person is experiencing and drawing them closer to God who understands exactly what we are going through.

    A Friend in the Storm

    Ever wonder what the wounded heart of a believer in Jesus Christ looks like? What words it whispers to the One who is Hope and Healing?
    Author, Cheryl Ricker, reveals that heart in words in her debut book, A Friend in the Storm.

    The publisher packaged the book beautifully. It will make a great gift book and I will personally keep extra copies with me. I often visit the sick in our local hospitals - they will be greatly blessed. However, I am thankful for my personal copy and encourage you to buy your first copy as a gift to yourself.
