Overview

The only thing worse than dying is never having it as an option.

The Tarimain, the immortal soldiers of God, tasked with fighting on the front lines of the eternal war, uncover a dark demonic plot to raise an army. Atharron, a four thousand year old former ruler of Calnis; Sarah, apathetic, but determined to do her duty; and Luke, a young Tarimai discovering the wonders and burdens of immortality. Together, they make their way through the first half of the twentieth century on the trail of a Great President of Hell and the mysterious Man with the Eyes.

Plymouth, England, 1932

For over a decade, David was imprisoned in a supernatural research facility where they performed experiments on his lycanthropic form. He escaped, but now the results of those experiments are surfacing in a terrible and deadly way when he attacks a young girl.
The seventh Chronicle in the Tarimain series.

~6200 words

WARNING: Contains gory violence.

He still tasted the blood of the girl. Sweet, and coppery. Luke had given him a bowl of water and soap to wash in, but it couldn’t take away that flavour. He liked it; and he hated that he liked it. He tried to make himself feel better by saying she killed people herself, but that wasn’t what made him go for her. She hurt Sarah.
He never thought anything about her before, but in that moment, his animal instincts kicked in to defend the female of his pack. She could take care of herself, she always had. She did; it was only a scratch.
Sniffing the air, he smelled meat. Cooked meat. He grimaced. Ever since Germany, he had developed a preference for rare, even raw meat. If it was any warmer than body temperature, he’d turn his nose up at it. Still, it was food, and he’d eat it. If he didn’t, he’d probably end up eating Luke instead.
