He still tasted the blood of the girl. Sweet, and coppery. Luke had given him a bowl of water and soap to wash in, but it couldn't take away that flavour. He liked it; and he hated that he liked it. He tried to make himself feel better by saying she killed people herself, but that wasn't what made him go for her. She hurt Sarah.
He never thought anything about her before, but in that moment, his animal instincts kicked in to defend the female of his pack. She could take care of herself, she always had. She did; it was only a scratch.
Sniffing the air, he smelled meat. Cooked meat. He grimaced. Ever since Germany, he had developed a preference for rare, even raw meat.
