Toad and Frog are classic children's story characters. They have been favorites for many years. If you are not familiar, they are a must for your children and grandchildren. They are delightful and teach about caring for each other. This particular edition, I enjoyed because of the picture book size. There is plenty of white space on each page for beginning readers and enough print to give them a challenge and a sense of accomplishment. A great format for this classic.

Frog and Toad are Friends received the Newberry Honor. This book would be great for ages 4-8. Frog and Toad are best of friends. They do everything together. Frog didn¿t feel so good. Toad said, ¿You are looking quite green.¿ Toad goes to take care of his best friend until he gets to feeling better. Read Frog and Toad are Friends to find out what Frog and Toad do together. This book is a fantasy book. I haven¿t seen very many frogs and toads talking to each other. I really enjoyed this book. It teaches a lot about friendship. Arnold Lobel is the author of the book. Lobel has wrote and illustrated over 70 books for children. Mr. Lobel¿s wife, Anita, is also a children¿s author and illustrator. Lobel, Arnold. Frog and Toad are Friends. Frog and Toad Are Friends is a delightful book full of lessons on friendship for children. My favorite story is 'A Swim' where Frog and Toad are going to take a swim in the river, but first Toad has to put on his swimsuit. During this event, Toad tell Frog not to look, because he 'looks funny' in his swimsuit. Frog, being a good friend, agrees not to look. However, a snake, a mouse, dragonflies, a turtle, and some lizards are not so nice-they will not leave until Toad comes out of the river and they can see him. 'Go away!' Frog shouts several times, but it doesn't work, and eventually Toad has to come out of the river. This is an excellent book, and the illustrations are very nice, it is a Level 2 book for grades 1 through 3. Lobel,Arthur. Frog and Toad Are Friends. New York: Harper Collins, 1970.

I read the book Frog and Toad Are Friends. It is 300% funny. The book is about Frog and Toad becoming friends. It was funny when Frog and Toad were sick in bed. Toad stood on his head to tell frog a story. Toad was banging his head on the wall to try to think of a story. People were laughing at Toad's bathing suit when they were in the pool. After reading this book you will want to be good friends like Frog and Toad. It is great to have good friends!

I love that this book it has 5 stories within the book. It encourages my son to move onto a new page. A perfect way to get use to chapter books. He finds the stories fun and funny, this helps him to keep his interest in the book. The series are also used in school. Which keeps him ahead of the rest of the class.

This is a combination of 4 stories about two friends (Frog and Toad). My 5 year old loves the the fun stories because they are simple enough for her to understand, enjoy and read along sometimes. The length of the stories are just right and are good for bedtime. I like that it is available in hardcover - a great addition to her library.

My son will be 4 years old in 2 months and he has been with I Can Read for long time. He is such a fast reader and can pick up idea so quick so I have the feeling of being kicked axx by him to keep buying new books for him all the time. Before knowing Frog & Toad, he had finished sam the seal, morris the mousse, mouse tales/soup, zack's alligator, big maxx, little pig.....I had seen F&T many times in the books store but never picked it until one day my son dragged me to B&N again and I asked myself: what else should I get this time? Now I have to admit, Frog & Toad did not impress me at the first place b/c they were not attractive/cute characters to me until I started to read it with my son....

The stories are so good. To a 35-year-old dad, the stories make bigger sense and at the samer time, even easier for kids to understand. Every story teaches something. Now my son has repeat reading it for more than 20 times I guess but he is still loving it.

If you are choosing books for you kids and not sure where to go, I would simply recommend all Arnold Lobel books. I have a feeling my son would tell you the same thing.

My daughter is 4,5 years old. Since she was 4 she is true lover of all stories from series of Frog and Toad (4 books) written and red by Arnold Lobel.

I love this book, and the series, that shows how a frog and a toad, though similar in ways, are different species, but are great friends that do everything for one another. Teaches good morals and friendship.

'Frog and Toad Are Friends' by Arnold Lobel is a book about Frog and Toad's friendship. They are the best of friends. This book is about how one time in the chapter called 'Swim' Toad got really cold. In the story, 'Spring' Toad was sleeping and Frog was trying to wake Toad. Would you lie to your friends? This book is a good book because there's always a problem and Frog and Toad always solve it.

This Caldecott book is a cute book about friendship. It is written and illustrated by Arnold Lobel. Arnold grew up in New York, and lived with his grandparents. He has gotten most of his ideas for his work from cartoons that his children watch. The two friends are a frog and toad who help and compliment each other. They cheer each other up and help in trouble. This book is full of their adventures together as friends. ¿It was here all the time. What a lot of trouble I have made for Frog.¿ This is when Toad loses his button and Frog helps him look for it all day. This is just one instance of how they help each other. Lobel, Arnold. Caldecott: Frog and Toad are Friends, is a good book for children. It shows how in friendship both people have to try to make it work. That you help one another when the other needs it or if they¿re sad you try to cheer them up. I really enjoyed reading this book. It was entertaining and had a good meaning behind it. Arnold Lobel grew up in Schenectady, New York, where he lived with his grandparents. When he graduated from art school, he married Anita Kempler, and they moved to New York. He and his wife had two children, Adam and Adrianne. When he first started drawing pictures for children's books, Arnold Lobel got many of his ideas from the cartoons his children liked to watch. Arnold Lobel used to tell stories and illustrate them to entertain his classmates when he was a young boy. He said that taking books out of the library was one of the things he loved to do most when he was a child. The book, Frog and Toad Are Friends, is about two friends. One friend is a frog and the other is a Toad. They compliment each other and help one another. When one is sad the other one cheers him up. When one has lost something the other one helps him find it. If one helps out, then the other one rewards him somehow. If one is sick, the other one helps take care of him and keeps him company. This book talks about Frog and Toad¿s adventures together as friends and how they overcome things. ¿It was here all the time. What a lot of trouble I have made for Frog¿. This is the part in the story when Toad finds his button that him and Frog had spent the day looking for. ¿Toad took all of the buttons out of his pocket. He took his sewing box down from the shelf. Toad sewed the buttons all over his jacket. The next day Toad gave his jacket to Frog¿. This is the part in the story where Toad shows his appreciation of Frog for helping him search for his button. Toad put all the buttons they had found that day on his jacket and gave it to Frog as a gift. Frog was thrilled with the present. Lobel, Arnold. Frog and Toad Are Friends. New York: Harper & Raw, 1970.

Two of our family¿s favorite characters of all time are Frog and Toad. Author Arnold Lobel certainly captures the foibles, eccentricities and idiosyncrasies of human character in his portrayal these two lovable amphibians. This book has four stories. One is entitled ¿Spring¿ in which Frog uses his wits to convince Toad it¿s time to wake up. The second is ¿The Story¿ in which Frog ends up telling Toad a story after Toad undoes himself trying to think of a story to tell his ailing friend. The third story is ¿The Lost Button¿ in which Toad, Frog, and friends search for Toad¿s lost button. The fourth story is¿ The Letter¿ in which Toad is bemoaning the fact that he never gets any mail. This book and its companion books about Frog and Toad are on their third generation in our family. The accompanying audio tapes for these books with Arnold Lobel as the storyteller are priceless. Lobel¿s dry, monotonic delivery is exactly what is needed to depict the characters, the scene and the humor in these totally delightful tales. Carolyn Rowe Hill
