Froggy Goes to Schoolby Jonathan London
Froggy's mother knows that everyone's nervous on the first day of school. "Not me!" says Froggy, and together they leapfrog to the bus stop. Full color.
The accessible writing has plenty of gratifying opportunities for funny sounds when read out loud, and is also endearingly wry: "He liked his name. It was the first word he knew how to read. It was the only word he knew how to read." Remkiewicz's bright watercolors feature punchy, bouncy, bug-eyed animals wearing emphatically exaggerated expressions: This bunch is easy to love.

Froggy Goes to School is the best kids book I have ever presented. I am reading a kids book for a class in school, and I pick this one. I have gone through out our city to present this.
I read this book to my first grade class each year as a 'spring board' to introduce myself and talk about our fears on the first day of school. A frog going to school in nothing but his underwear always brings a smile to some of the most reluctent students in the class. We talk about our fears and laugh about how silly they are and share hugs with each other. This is a wonderful book to share with a child just before school starts.
