Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly
Everyone's favorite amphibian stars in Froggy's Day with Dad by Jonathan London, illus. by Frank Remkiewicz, the 14th book in the series. For Dad's special day, Froggy plans a special breakfast, a round of bumper boats and a game of miniature golf-all with more than a few zips, thumps, thunks and bonks tossed in. Copyright 2004 Reed Business Information.
Children's Literature
It's Father's Day, and Froggy is making breakfast for his Dad. He flops to the kitchen and splat, drops an egg on the floor. But, Dad loves his breakfast, eggshells and all. Froggy and Dad flop, flop, flop all the way to the park. They ride the bumper boats, but Froggy bumps the boats too hard. At the bating cage, the bat flies out of Froggy's hand and hits Dad in the foot, thunk! When Froggy and Dad play miniature golf, Froggy hits Dad in the head with a golf ball, and even dives into the pond and comes up with seven balls. The day ends with Froggy's gift to Dad: A cup with lettering he made himself. All is forgiven, and Dad declares it the best Father's Day gift. The book is a perfect story for a child to share with a father on Father's Day, or any day of the year. 2004, Viking, Ages 4 to 6.

School Library Journal
K-Gr 3-It's Father's Day, and the endearing young amphibian is looking forward to a special time with his dad. After a less than perfect breakfast, the two go to the park to enjoy in recreational activities such as miniature golf and bumper boats. Even though, in typical Froggy style, not everything goes smoothly-there are a few accidents and lots of plodding and flopping-in the end the day is a happy one for both of them. As in Froggy's previous adventures, the simple, energetic illustrations match the pleasantly ordinary and sentimental tenor of the text. This latest day in the life of Froggy is sure to elicit chuckles from readers and will be a welcome addition to any collection needing appealing stories about father-child relationships.-Holly T. Sneeringer, St. Mark School, Baltimore, MD Copyright 2004 Reed Business Information.
