Meet the Author

Janet E. Heininger, Ph.D., is a former assistant professor at American University in Washington, D.C. and the mother of two children, including a son with ADHD.
Sharon K. Weiss, M.Ed., a behavioral consultant in private practice in northern Virginia, speaks nationally and internationally on parenting and behavior management, among other topics, and has worked as a teacher of special-needs children. A founding member of ADHD Professionals Group, she has also served as a program coordinator and supervisor of an intervention program for behavior-disordered children.

    i am recomending to all parents of add/adhd kids

    this book has changed how i see parenting ... even for my children without add/adhd. so many people i know have had trouble with morning routines and bedtime routines with their add/adhd children....i thought i was the only one. i thought i was going to lose my sanity until i got this book. it has really helped me and created a much calmer household, which is good for everyone.

    Proactive parenting for all families

    A book that will give you true inspriration when dealing with all kinds of behavioral issues in children. One can feel the pain and joy that the parents and child goes through when trying to sort life out with ADHD. The author gives you a true understanding of living in a household with a child diagnosed with ADHD. From both the siblings to the individual himself who is trying to deal with daily issues. As both a parent and a special education teacher the book gives very useful tools in dealing with the ups and downs of daily life. From the onslaugt of homework to the social world of a teenager. Techniques that can work for all families in all situations.
