This was an absolutely fantastic book and series. I would recommend this book even to people who don't like mangas since I myself didn't like mangas until my friend told me to read this one. Now I can't stop reading mangas. I was under the impression that mangas were just about strange creatures and I was never interested. Then my friend told me that this series had romance in it and it instantly perked my interest. This is a shoujo manga meaning it is a romance story meant for girls. It's about a girl named Noriko who gets transported to a different world in an interesting way. Once in the new and strange world she gets attacked right away. Thankfully a man comes to save her and allows her to travel with him. The man is handsome, strong, and mysterious which can draw any girl in, and he is the perfect hero. Noriko is lovable and girls can relate to her as she is an ordinary girl who goes through all of the same feelings of love that all girls do. The romance doesn't start right away, but the story line is so interesting that you can't stop reading the books. It may get slow at some parts, but you want to keep reading to know what will happen to the two protagonists. You see the story from both their points of views at the same time and deal with the uncertainty and unavoidable attraction that they both go through. They meet many obstacles throughout the series and you always want to know what will happen to them and if they will have a happy ending. The story will pull at your heartstrings and you'll feel both their sadness an joy as you get sucked into their world. It's also a series that I would recommend to many ages since it has no adult content. If you read it you will absolutely love it and will never forget it.

This is a wonderful book. In it, a regular, everyday high-school girl is thrust suddenly into a entire new world. She's rescued by Izark, who is very mysterious and does not speak her language. She's also apparently very important (not telling why, read!) to the many countries of this world, so the two of them are being hunted. Luckily, even though she is still clueless, her new guardian is not and she's in capable, if somewhat dubious hands. The art is simply spectacular, though obviously manga. The characters are very well-rounded, including our helpless heroine who decides to try learning the language of her new surroundings and our tall, dark and silent hero who grumbles a good bit and becomes exasperated easily. The story also has a good flow to it, keeping you in it long after you should have turned out the light. Can't wait to read more.

From Far Away reminds me a bit of Fushigi Yugi - but the book definitely has it's own charm. I can't tell if it's a keeper yet, but I plan on buying the next couple books in the series. So far I recommend it!

This is cute, plain and simple. While I'm reviewing volume 1 I have read the entire series and this series remains consistent in delivery and gets sweeter closer to the end. It's only not a five star because I do like a deeper plot to things I read or at least a deeper on page romance. I don't dislike anything about this I can only ask for more

This was one of the best comics I have ever read! I was really upset when I found out that there were only 2 volumes so far. But I'm really excited for volumes 3 and 4! I let some of my friends read it and now they are hooked! Great Job Kyoko Hikawa!
