Library Journal - Library Journal
``Motherhood was bliss lined with drudgery'' is how Weston describes her first venture into maternity. She admits that as a thirtysomething yuppie, the idea of adding a baby to her already busy life was less than appealing. Only her husband could hear her biological clock ticking. So with his insistence she gave up her diaphragm, and they inconceivably conceived the first night they tried. Weston then provides a funny, poignant accounting of her life as a Pregnant Person. While not a comprehensive medical handbook, it is helpful for first-time mothers who want some assurance that the whole experience can be fulfilling. A bit like reading your best friend's diary for 18 months, this is a nice ``extra'' for pregnancy collections.--Belinda Pugh, King Bay Base Lib., Ga.
