About the Author

Lana Renee Murphy was born in Jonesboro, Arkansas to Alvin and Carolyn Leach and raised primarily in Junction City, Kansas. A devoted teacher, tutor, and caregiver, she now lives in Kennett, Missouri with her mother, Carolyn, sister Gayla, and youngest daughter, Summer. Renee is the proud mother of Laura (Castle Rock, CO), Blake (Benton, AR), and MaKayla (Tulsa, OK).
In addition to her love of teaching, Renee enjoys crafting, gardening, and baking, and is best known for inspiring others through her Cotton Bred Truth devotionals, which echo the same values and lessons found in this memoir. From Plowed Field to Pulpit is her debut book and a loving tribute to her father’s enduring influence.
