Meet the Author

J.R. grew up in Norwich. New York, a small town that had many fine trout steams and woodlands where his father, who was an avid hunter and fisherman, taught him not only how to shoot a gun and use a fly rod... but most importantly, showed him the mysterious and magical importance of the great outdoors and the creatures that lived there. When he was six he moved to Washington, D.C. when his father took a job with the National Wildlife Federation. His love for the outdoors continued throughtout his school years, four years in the U.S Airforce, and a sales & marketing career with several national firms that afforded him the opportunity to fish & golf in all regions of our country. J. R. ended up in San Diego and retired in 1998. In 2007 he moved to the Pensacola, Florida area where he decided to write a book about his favorite subjects; dogs & wolves. He finished the book. In 2009 he self-published, "From the Wilderness," and it has received wonderfull reviews from its readers. He and his wife, Susan, have between them, three sons, a daughter, and seven grandchildren.
