Meet the Author

Eliot Greenspan is a poet, journalist, and travel writer who took his backpack and typewriter the length of Mesoamerica before settling in Costa Rica in 1992. Since then, he has worked steadily as a travel writer, freelance journalist, and translator, and has continued his travels in the region. He is the author of Frommer’s Belize, Frommer’s Costa Rica, Frommer’s Guatemala, Frommer’s Ecuador, Costa Rica Day By Day and Costa Rica For Dummies, as well as the Venezuela chapter in Frommer’s South America.

    Great guide

    This was my bible during my trip to Guatemala! I navigated very smoothly based on the information in the guide. This was the only guide I needed. e.g. for finding hotels, food, tours.

    The only thing I would suggest is that they include some more pictures in the guide.

    Perfect Trip Planner

    I have found this book to be quite valuable in preparing for an upcoming trip. I have always been a Fodor's fan but this Frommer's guide included some important information that Fodor's was missing, especially relating to travel within Guatemala. This is a must for the Guatemalan bound traveler.
