Despite its recent publication date (Feb. 2004), this book is riddled with errors and omissions. Here are several examples of the errors and omissions in this book: - The address given for the main Tourist Information Centre in Auckland is incorrect; the bookstore at the address listed has been there for three years. - There internet café supposedly next door to the non-existent Information Centre isn't there either. - Two gay bars listed on K Road in Auckland are not at the addresses given. The sign at one of the addresses says it belongs to ¿New Zealand¿s longest-established [straight] strip club, established 1962.¿ - Other than a brief mention on the ¿What¿s New¿ page and a half-page grey box listing a few sightseeing suggestions, the book completely omits the major tourist center of Kaikoura. The town is 2-1/2 hours from Christchurch, certainly too far for a day-trip, yet the book gives no city information, hotel listings, map, or restaurant suggestions. I have been satisfied with Frommer¿s travel guides in the past and have never seen a travel guide as poorly edited and revised as this one. I am frankly angry that I spent money on a supposedly newly published guide that had so much out-of-date information in it. It was a waste of money.
