This book does a very good job detailing how to get in and around San Juan (especially Old San Juan.) The book gave important details about historic sites such as time and price. It also lets you know what sites to skip if you are short on time. We ate at several of the recommended restaurants in Old San Juan and they were all delicious. Outside of San Juan however the book starts to lack in important details. For example, we tried to visit a lighthouse on the southern portion of the island and the directions took you "near" it but not "to" it. We could see views of it from a mile away but the book did not give enough detailed information to find the road to get to it. When we finally did find the lighthouse it was closed, but we weren't aware of that since the book did not have hours of operation. All in all, I think GOOD travel books should be all you need to get places and have fun; however this book lacks important details and makes you want to reach for another book. Who likes taking 2 travel books on their vacation?!
