Poole, a native Californian, has managed to combine three of his stronger passions—writing, photography, and traveling—to his advantage, and as a result has authored and contributed to more than 20 travel guides to California, Las Vegas, Hawaii, and abroad. Before becoming a full-time travel writer/photographer, Matthew worked as an English tutor in Prague, ski instructor in the Swiss Alps, and scuba instructor in Maui.
