Meet the Author

LynDee Walker grew up in the land of stifling heat and amazing food most people call Texas, and wanted to be Lois Lane from the time she could say the words "press conference." An award-winning journalist, LynDee traded cops and deadlines for burp cloths and onesies when her oldest child was born. Writing the Headlines in High Heels mysteries gives her the best of both worlds. LynDee is a member of Sisters in Crime and James River Writers. BURIED LEADS is her second Headlines in High Heels mystery. Her debut, FRONT PAGE FATALITY, is an amazon multi-chart #1 bestseller and an Agatha Award nominee for Best First Novel. A Headlines in High Heels novella appears in the anthology HEARTACHE MOTEL. The third novel in the series, SMALL TOWN SPIN, is coming in April 2014.

LynDee adores her family, her readers, and enchiladas. She often works out tricky plot points while walking off the enchiladas. She lives in Richmond, Virginia, where she is working on her next novel. You can find her online in any of the usual social media places or at www.lyndeewalker.com.

Sue Grafton fans will love this book

Plenty of interesting characters and plot building. Fun reading but not fluff. I admire the author for not making the character silly and keeping her working on the clues. I immediately bought the next book in the series after reading this one.

    Dollycas’s Thoughts

Exciting from the first page to the last!!

The new Henery Press has some wonderful chicks in its coop!! A couple of weeks ago I read and reviewed Killer Image by Wendy Tyson and it was fantastic. This week Front Page Fatality kept me up late into the night until I reached the end.

This story is packed with drama and strong vibrant characters. Nichelle is a powerful, feisty woman. Her boss, Bob, is her father figure and the interplay between them is just heartwarming. The other supporting characters just leap off the pages and part of the mystery is which of them are the “good guys” and which are the “bad guys”.

The dialogue is terrific, the pace is perfect, and the humor is well placed. Then there are those moments that rival a scary movie and you can’t seem to read fast enough. And don’t forget the shoes….heels to be exact… Carrie Bradford look out!!

This is a wonderful debut. Buried Leads is on deck. I can’t wait! If you like your cozies with just a bit of an edge pick this one up today!!

I can see why Front Page Fatality is an Agatha Award nominee--terrific storytelling, intricately woven plot, and a cast of characters I can't wait to spend another book with!

Ms. Walker brings her Richmond Virginia setting to life with the perfect amount of detail that never slows the pace down.

Nichelle Clarke is someone I'd love to grab a drink with--she's smart, clever, focused, doesn't wait to be rescued, and has a heart. She's a heroine women can really root for. Her love of expensive shoes bought on Ebay is a cute character trait. Especially since she's a reporter stomping through rocks and dirt by the river.

Three different males crossed her path in the story, but none of them swayed her from her sleuthing ways. I am excited to see what develops in book 2 with them and her career.

The cast of characters is well rounded with the mentor/boss Bob, the nemesis Shelby, the helpful Eunice, and the gorgeous Parker. It truly feels like a family in the workplace.

It's clear Ms. Walker had an extraordinary career as a journalist because she is able to completely immerse the reader in the world of the Richmond Telegraph.

The pacing was lightning fast. I finished the last 150 pages in a day.

I wasn't sure who the murderer was until the absolute end--thanks for a great mystery and perfectly laid out clues. A delight to read!

**Original review posted on Gin's Book Notes (GinsBookNotes      .com)**
Nichelle (Nicey) Clarke, is working the crime beat for the Richmond Telegraph with dreams of writing a story that will get her noticed and hopefully employed by the Washington Post. Nichelle has a high designer shoe fixation, which she nourishes with regular shopping purchases from eBay, and a knack for asking the right questions.

Although some of the shoe references were over my head I still really enjoyed getting to know Nichelle. She is a spunky, intelligent, and slightly sarcastic reporter that ends up in a whole lot of trouble when she digs too deeply into missing people and evidence associated with the Richmond Police Department.

The main focus in this story is on solving the crime and catching the bad guys but I get the feeling that Nichelle may develop some romantic interests in future books. There are at least three characters that she could easily start something up with and personally I'm rooting for the sexy Mafia boss.

I would say that the story is moderately paced. There were a few times that I found myself skipping ahead but overall I really enjoyed this book and look forward to seeing what trouble Nichelle digs up next and I'm keeping my figures crossed that sexy Mafia boss shows back up.

    Not bad

Nichelle ( aka Nicey) is a reporter with a steller education but not so much on the experience end. She has a penchant for expensive heels, a photographic memory, and a wild imagination, all of which get her into hot water as she fights for the lead story at the Richmond paper.

She literally stumbles on the biggest story of her career, but will she live to report it?

Not the best in what might be classified as a cozy mystery, but the series, and the author, have potenial
