Overview

This volume will be co-published with the American Society of Civil Engineers, and will help serve as a gateway to further collaborative publishing with the nation's leading representative organization for civil engineers. Although "cold regions engineering" remains a specialty within civil engineering, it continues to present engineers with some of the most challenging problems for structural and infra-structural design work. Thus, the field tends to follow new research and new data carefully, and new publications such as this are always welcomed by professional and student engineers alike. This book in particular is authoritative and its authors are recognized experts, worldwide. It will add prestige and breadth to our growing list of titles in closely related areas of structural engineering, soil mechanics, and construction technology.
