Editorial Reviews

School Library Journal
Gr 4-7-Young readers should find this book fascinating, as Getz describes the discovery, recovery (barely!), and scientific study of this man who died approximately 5,000 years ago. The clear, concise, and interesting text with carefully rendered interpretive illustrations and four full-color photos will answer many youngsters' questions and perhaps stimulate them to pursue some matters in greater depth. However, some dissonance occurs between the somewhat sophisticated vocabulary and the relatively simple sentence structure, but it should not be a major problem for those captivated by the subject.-Joel Shoemaker, Southeast Jr. High School, Iowa City, IA
From the Publisher
"Getz explains the incredible story of the Iceman clearly and concisely, simply enough for a child to understand but in enough depth to satisfy a curious lay adult." --Kirkus Reviews
