Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher
A thrilling murder mystery with a sense of adventure from start to finish. It really makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up.—Emma, age 8

Rich in historical detail, with maps and a glossary, this exciting adventure story really brings to life the sights and sounds of Ancient Greece.—Becca Pennicott

In this tour de force, the tenth in the ebuillient Roman Mysteries series, Lawrence combines racy storytelling with authentic (but never unduly didactic) detail, occasional deliberate anachronisms, good jokes and bons mots.—Kevin Crossley-Holland

Immensely readable—TIMES EDUCATIONAL SUPPLEMENT

An interesting and exciting read that is extremely well researched. It is packed with accurate detail of everyday Roman life. The story is so well paced and involving that you don't realise just how much information you are absorbing—SCHOOL LIBRARIAN on SECRETS OF VESUVIUS
