    Full Circle

Full Circle a book like no other that has been written something that I can relate to growing up in the so called urban area of NYC. Ayana Ellis reaching into the souls of young women trying to find themselves and trying to find someone to love them. We have all been through that especially if there is no father figure around in our lives. She shows you the trials and tribulations that one young girl went through but she also shows you what you can overcome in life if you put your mind to it and just stay focused. I love this book and would recommend anyone and everyone who hasn't picked it up yet to do themselves a favor and go out and get this book, if you have read it encourage others to purchase the book. Ayana Ellis I look forward to many more books to come keep on pushing girl. :)

I WAS READING BY MY CELL PHONE LIGHT at night b/c it was so good I couldn't put it down while on a road trip. Enough said.

Gripping. Totally captured my attention and I blazed through this book. I had to literally cover up the bottom of the pages as I read b/c I was eager to read ahead to see what was going to happen next. I fell in love/hate with the characters. Carin's journey from a young girl to a full woman was a journey for real. The events in this book are so like WHOA; the author creates the scene so well you can envision it all without being too wordy. I was like how does she come up with this stuff to take you inside a world most of us never experience. I would love a follow up to this from the characters. Gritty, gripping, awing, thrilling, and takes you on a journey of love's many stages and how we all love differently without being a book soley about romance. YOU HAVE TO GET THIS BOOK you will NOT regret it. I couldn't wait to recommend this.

this book was great from beginning to end..the only reason i couldnt give it 5 stars was because i felt the book was entirely too long...she drugged out the storly a whole lot once it got to the middle and i felt it could've been shorten just a bit because it was some places i started getting bored and would skip a couple pages ahead but i did get the idea...i felt so connected to carin and felt like she was opne of my closest friends...i will always cherish this book! definately in my top ten..

Gutsy, Honest, Urban Literature At It's Very Best...

This book has the sort of gripping depth that keeps you turning pages, even when you should probably be counting sheep. The story draws you in, & touches on many of the ugliest truths affecting young men & women of color. It's impossible to avoid becoming emotionally invested in the various characters, & their flaws bring them to life. I've given copies to my wife, my mother, & my stepdaughter. Ayana Ellis is definitely an author to keep an eye on...

    I Also Recommend:

    A MUST Read

I really enjoyed this book. I ended up finishing the entire story in a day and a half. I just could not put it down, it is indeed a true page turner. The plot was great and very detailed. I could literally visualize EVERYTHING. Its also very inspirational and helps to remind me as young woman of my self-worth. It teaches you that ultimately its not worth risking your life having to go thru physical abuse just to be in love.

    Love Don't Cost a Thing

"Full Circle" tells the story of Carin Douglas. A girl who was raised by a single mother that didn't give her the attention she needed so she sought out her attention in the streets. Carin was a smart girl that didn't always put herself in the right situations. In her young days she runs with a stick up crew and then as she grows older she finds herself in an abusive relationship. Her father comes back into her life around the age of 18 but even he can't stop her from staying with a man that beats her like she's a man. I won't tell the ending but I think the author wraps things up in a good way.

I thought this book got slow during the parts of Carin's life where she was being abused but now that I think about it maybe the author was really trying to display through her words why people stay in abusive relationships. Other things that I enjoyed about the writing style was telling the story through the different character's points of view and the inspiration that this book may provide to people who may be in this situation. Also, by Carin being dressed in the best clothes and driving the best cars but still being beat by her fiance shows that you never know what goes on behind closed doors no matter how much money someone has. It shows that all that glitters is not gold. Overall this was a good book that I highly recommend.
