How could she have been so stupid? When Jessica Cross decides to give her violently jealous boyfriend—the otherwise influential and charming Dennis Stavros—a second chance, she very nearly becomes a statistic. After weeks of healing from a broken rib and collapsed lung, and with Dennis behind bars, Jessica finally feels ready to come out of hiding. But will she ever be able to take a chance on love again with someone new?
Mixed martial arts fighter Slade Martin knows he has a bad reputation. Hell, he’s probably earned it. So it won’t be easy to convince beautiful, vulnerable Jessica that she can trust him—that from the moment she walked into his life, she’s been the only one he’s wanted. Powerful and confident, Slade knows he can honor his vow to protect Jessica body and soul. Winning her heart will be another matter . . . but a woman like Jessica is worth the fight.

Great read! This is my first book I've read from this author and I really like her writing style. Great pace, natural dialogue between the characters, fluid story makes this a really enjoyable read. I will definitely be going back to read book one in this series as well as some of this authors other books. I highly recommend this one.

I spent most of my time laughing or grinning while I read this story. Slade and Jessica take the cake when it comes to witty conversations between characters. While the ease of their dialogue tickled my funny bone, the explosiveness of their relationship fascinated me. Slade's interest in Jessica wasn't new or sudden. It had grown over time. His claim on her heart just couldn't happen then because she was with someone, but it could happen now because she was a free woman. He just had to wait for her to heal from the beating her ex-boyfriend gave her before he could start showing her that he was the perfect man for her. I was surprised at how quickly their relationship began after her last one ended. I thought she would have wanted to wait a while, get used to the idea of dating again, you know? But I was reminded at the beginning of the story that Slade was the one who'd taken care of her after her ex went to prison. She'd stayed at his house, got better because of his tender care. If anyone deserved to date her, it was Slade. He made her laugh and smile. Most of all, he made her feel safe, protected, cared for, and incredibly loved. Everyone deserves a happy ending. The road to an HEA may be filled with bumps and twists and turns, but the ending makes all of that worth going through. Slade and Jessica deserved to be happy. They needed to see that life was more than what it had been, that they could have happiness if they were willing to take a chance on each other. This is the second book in Ms. Halston's Worth the Fight series, and it can be read as a standalone. However, I recommend reading Against the Cage first. It introduces Tarpon Springs as well as the characters this series is about. Just like book one, Full Contact is fast-paced, witty, and sexy, and is sure to keep a reader entertained from beginning to end. ***Received from NetGalley via Tasty Book Tours for an honest review***

4.75* I loved this book. This is the second book in the "Worth the Fight" series and defiantly my favorite so far. The first book was good but this one was really good. Romance, hot sex and suspense made this a book a great read. Slade Martin a Cage/MMA fighter was on the verge of seeing his dream come true and getting into a relationship he never thought he'd ever want. Jessica Cross followed her collage boyfriend Dennis to Tarpon Springs, once there he steadily turned violent. Working at the Pier the local bar Jessica meets Slade who shamelessly flirts with her and continually asks her out only to be turned down. One fateful night Slade steps in to protect Jessica from and angry Dennis and ends up in jail. Jessica leaves Dennis but when she goes to talk Dennis out of filing charges on Slade he beats her severely. Slade rushes to her side to protect and take care of her. Can Slade convince Jessica to give them the chance they both want? Slade is one HOT alpha male and the chemistry between he and Jessica is off the charts. I highly recommend this series.

The dialogue was a little stilted, but otherwise it was enjoyable. If you are into cage fighting and boxing and the like you will enjoy this.

3 3/4 stars This is Slade and Jessica's story, and I am more enthralled with Sidney's writing than I was with Against the Cage. The characters in this book are quite a bit stronger and so is the writing. The issue of domestic violence is written well and handled perfectly by the characters. Jessica's feelings and interpretations are spot on. I was delighted that Jessica was never fearful of Slade - despite his build and fighting experience. Slade really showed the type of man he was capable of being by taking care of Jessica after she was released from the hospital. She finally agrees to go out on a date with him so we get to watch the relationship develop. I enjoyed  their texts, banter and watching them fall in love. I loved that she found her inner strength. The week before the trial nearly gutted me, but (for the most part) the trial was anticlimactic, Jessica got some much needed closure and support of new found friends. This group of people are people I would want in my life and I'm so glad that Sidney's sharing them with us. This was a fairly quick read and I would recommend it.

Jessica and Slade are awesome together.  That’s just all there is to it.  They have a comfortable relationship with each other and their chemistry is hot, yet sweet.  Their progression around the bases so to speak was just plain cute.  Slade’s past is both funny and obnoxious in that Jessica has to face a lot of his “exes” and that would wear on me were I in her shoes.   Now it’s better if you read book one first, but this actually stands pretty well all on its own.  Pretty much everything you need in terms of references to book one are provided for you in a smooth recap when necessary.  The story was emotional and exciting and well-paced.  The ending itself was so freaking sweet it was almost nauseating!  I couldn’t be happier with their ending and I look forward to the next book as we were introduced to a few new key players with romantic potential in this one. Full Contact is a page turner with a lot of sizzle that will take you on a heck of an emotional ride.  I definitely recommend this awesome read!

Slade is one of the sexiest alpha males ever. I love the way he fought for his woman and their relationship. He was super confident/cocky but he didn't mind making himself vulnerable for her. She brought out feelings in him that nobody else could which was heart warming since he was gorgeous and normally unattainable for women. This is a great couple...this is definitely a book worth buying!

I fell right into the book as it is a continuation from the Worth The Fight Series!  The characters from the first book (Against the Cage) are here and very much a part of the book.  This story for Jessica and Slade is so good, though.   Right from the beginning you can tell how Slade feels about Jessica.  She finds him charming but is saddened by the fact that she is responding to him and yet - women are literally throwing themselves at him - In front of her! Slade takes good care of Jessica after her ex-boyfriend beats her and she ends up in the hospital.  She stays at Slade's house and he nurses her carefully back to health.  She is very independent, so at the first sign of feeling better, she goes home. Jessica does not know how she feels about him until after she leaves and goes home.  She starts to miss him, and finds herself willing to finally go on the first date they have talked so much about.  They really are good together.  The sparks are off the charts and when they kiss.... well swoon is just a small word for how I felt. If you are already a fan of the book series and the MMA fighters - this book is an easy fit for you.  I found the alpha males in here to be charming, funny and H.O.T.!!  They are also totally protective and very loving.... a true hero... or three. I cannot wait for the series to continue with a new book coming out in February is Below the Belt.  I am so excited!!  Ms Halston has a great sense of who should be together and each book, while being read by themselves is more powerful if you read them in order.

This story starts with Slade waking up to a knock on the front door. Standing at the door is one of his lovers who is upset because he has not answered her calls or texts. Slade can't even remember her name. As he stands there talking to "Charlene, Charlotte, Channel, Chelsey, Chantel...." his sister (Chrissy) and fiancée (Jake, Slade's best friend) walk over. Slade is trying to get rid of "Chastity" before she wakes up Jessica. Jessica is a friend, although Slade has always wanted more, who he has been taking care of after being beaten up by her ex-boyfriend. But instead of getting rid of one woman, up drives another one. And now to make matters worse, they wok Jessica and she is standing at the door watching this who scenario play out. I love the humor interspersed throughout the book. As Slade is confronted by both these women, Jack turns around to Chrissy and says "Baby, I hope you brought chairs. This is going to get real good?. Jessica knows Slade has been interested in her, but she also knows he is a man whore. However she decides to give him a chance. I liked the back and forth between Jessica and Slade. They are able to both give back as good as they get. You can feel their enjoyment of them bickering back and forth. When I look at the cover of a book I get a picture of how the character looks. This stood out to me because the physical description of Slade did not match the cover. Little thing I know. I like how the author pulls in characters from other books of the same series. You get sort of an added closure to their story as well. Overall loved this book. It is a solid enjoyable read with likeable characters. You will even love the dog Drogo.

After reading the first book in the Worth the Fight series I was left enthralled by the charming and sexy Slade and his life threatening health issues. Seeing him take the lead in this story had me clamoring to read it and he ends up being the highlight as he struggles to get the girl who's haunted his dreams for months. Slade is a self-professed player who's brutally honest with his partners by telling them they're temporary. Despite that, women still chase after him and fight for his attention. Every woman that is except for Jessica who's still recovering from a physically abusive relationship. As domestic abuse affected his family his protective instincts come out in full force and he becomes Jessica's champion, protector, and ultimately lover. Slade's not used to being obsessed with a woman as he usually forgets them as soon as he's had them, but Jessica's always in his thoughts. He takes care of her while she recovers and then worms his way into her heart through his charm, sensuality, and encouragement of her dreams. He's a straight-up guy who doesn't like subterfuge or drama and unfortunately Jessica has a lot of drama surrounding her. Slade's a powerful man who would never hurt a woman and I fell for him as he oozed sex appeal and had a sexy way with dirty talk. Just like in the previous installment the heroine here too frustrated me. She didn't want her friends and family to know what happened to her at the hands of her ex but it set her up to be hurt again as she ignored many threats to her safety. Other characters say she's strong-willed but I saw a woman with understandably low self-esteem who tended to jump to conclusions. No matter how much Slade proved himself to her she always assumed the worse. Jessica appears naive in many ways due to her ex's influence and it's only when she's with Slade do I see a woman starting to come out of her shell. He's good for her if she'd only stop fighting what's so obviously right. This was a quick read that felt a bit choppy in its transitions. The relationship between Slade and Jessica evolved slowly from flirty to steamy with lots of speedbumps along the way from Jessica's inner demons to outside forces that often put their HEA in doubt. While I enjoyed the friendship displayed between the females in this story I was still left annoyed by their overly dramatic natures. Jessica's evolution wasn't as complete as I'd hoped but thank heavens for the men as they're all charming and seductive with larger than life personalities. The world of MMA fighting is again on display in vivid detail and I enjoyed the energy of these scenes. I also enjoyed the other fighters we get glimpses of as they have appealing and diverse personalities and I look forward to their stories being told as Texas is playful and sweet while Cain is strong and silent with mystery surrounding him. This is a good read but still has the same issues as I found in the previous installment. I have high hopes that these issues will be fixed in the next book as its fiery protagonists deserve a story that crackles.

Goodness! These stories keep getting better and better! I read any time I could to finish this book, that's how engaging the story was. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series(which I hope there is one). Slade is a former MMA cage fighter and Jessica is a woman who he rescued from an abusive ex-boyfriend. From the beginning, they are smitten with each other and when she finally agrees to go out with him, it ignites from there. Wonderful, spell bounding book.
