Diets never work. Changing behaviors is the most difficult thing anyone can implement. This book has many practical important ways to modify your diet and lifestyly. These recommendations lead to life long changes in the way we shop, prepare food for ourselves and our families. It is a great way to eat/live even if you don't have weight to lose. If you do, it helps with that as well. Many are living in a prediabetic condition. These changes with weight loss may delay the onset of the disease. Even if you are on oral agents, with a 10% reduction in body weight your physician may recommend discontinuing the oral agent. It is beautifully supplemented w/ and great website filled with great tasting easy to prepare menus. I endorse this book.
This book is not really a diet book. It teaches a person how to get more fiber in your daily diet. This way you eat healthier foods and get you full and losing weight instead of eating foods that are not nutritious and getting unwanted calories that add weight. Very informative. Well worth the money that I spent.
A must for anyone who is serious about getting thier health back in order. I've bought 5 books already. It's great for meat eaters or vegetarians. Wonderful for diabetics and even the whole family. I dropped 17lbs in 30 days. I'm a single-parent, own my own bussiness and work 6 days a week. I,ve never eaten so well or so much. My heartburn and crazy food craves are gone. My 12 year old daughter loves to cook the suggested food combinations. Do yourself a favor, get the book.
The author has created a simple, unintimidating book about making healthy food choices and changing one's lifestyle. There are no theories and wild claims, just good solid information about food and cooking. Nice color photos compliment the abbreviated text. Easy enough for the busiest person. I highly recommend this little gem.
I got this book after reading all the positive reviews on Amazon. Stupid me, I did not open the book until I got home. It is nothing but pictures of vegetables and fruits and can be sunmmarized in eat 2 wrods "eat more fiber." I went back to Amazon to see if I missed something only to find out that all 175 comments have 5 stars rating, which make me wonder if it is the publishing company doind a hype to make a a glossy catalogue of vegetables a bestseller, don't be a sucker like I was.
