Fundamentals and Application of Thermodynamics
Thermodynamics, a branch of physics devoted to understanding heat, temperature, energy, and work, has been evolving since the eighteenth century. Recent research in thermodynamics has expanded its scope to encompass a diverse array of systems, including the corn-ethanol biofuel cycle, lipid-peptide interactions, DNA structural motifs, and glass-forming substances. This book aims to present groundbreaking ideas that transcend traditional disciplinary boundaries, offering a wide spectrum of viewpoints and approaches in thermodynamics. Covering topics such as self-assembled systems, statistical thermodynamics, surface growth, kinetics, multisite adsorption, heavy metal sorption, and irreversible thermodynamics, the book provides a comprehensive exploration of this complex field. It features a selection of high-level contributions that span from fundamental principles to practical applications across various scientific disciplines. Whether you are involved in propulsion systems, power generation systems, chemical industry, quantum systems, refrigeration, fluid flow, combustion, or other phenomena, this book will offer valuable insights and perspectives to enhance your understanding of thermodynamics
