From The CriticsReviewer: Brant D. Wommack, BS, MD(University of Colorado Health Sciences Center)
Description: This is an excellent review, although definitely not exhaustive, of body CT. It is a very quick read and time efficient, making it a great book for residents to read on their first body rotation.
Purpose: With the third edition, the authors condensed some of the older text into tables and lists, while expanding newer topics with the latest information. They accomplish their goals well.
Audience: The book seems to be targeted to early radiology residents, and the authors are very credible.
Features: The book covers CT of the entire body (chest, abdomen/pelvis, and briefly the musculoskeletal system). A very broad subject is summarized well, with the abdomen/pelvis section probably more effectively than the chest sections. The images are excellent.
Assessment: Compared with the second edition, this third edition effectively incorporates the latest information on topics such as high resolution chest CT, while summarizing the older information. This makes it an updated, but efficient, easy to read resource great for a resident to read during a body CT rotation.
