Fundamentals of Product Design: Fundamentally a Fantastic Book!

I've found this book very interesting and useful, and it provides a good introduction to the discipline of product design. Since design has its roots in creativity and functionality, and it's heavily affected by contemporary trends, I particularly appreciated the multifaceted approach the author has decided to use. The design development is explained very clearly, along with the production process and the importance of knowledge of the market place. Not only is the book richly and beautifully illustrated, it also gives numerous examples of successful product designs, various case studies and useful ideas to help you develop your own design style.
It's very interesting to learn and understand the work behind such brilliant design ideas. This book helps you discover how designers have to weave together a product which is the sum of various marketing analyses, psychological factors, beauty and practical and statutory requirements. It's also a very serious task, as this industry moves so quickly, the designer needs to get the product right the first time around. A professional has to be able to constantly generate new ideas for any kind of project, relying only on his power of imagination, which is definitely something very challenging.
I strongly suggest this book to anybody interested in design and to who's curious about the process behind the look of our everyday products and objects, as this is the perfect introduction to product design.
