Meet the Author
Captain Redbeard is well-known to maritime enthusiasts as a pirate who loves his treasure so much he would rather sleep on it than bury it. He has spread his infamous name across the seas, and, though the tale is the subject of much debate, it is rumored he was responsible for the disappearance of all those aboard the storied Mary Celeste. It was his strained relationship with jelly beans, however, that led him into his grandest adventure.

This book is a thrilling read from beginning to end. With incredible plot turns, witty and memorable characters, and incredibly in-depth sidebar features, it is a must-have for any adventure lover's library. As a former public school teacher, I have a great appreciation for the applicability of the literary features of this book for any child's learning and progress toward mastery of Reading standards, and this is a gem of a book toward that end--although they'll never know they're learning because of all the fun they'll have reading it. Do not miss 'Fundorado Island' and all of its hidden treasures!
This is one of my favorite books of all time. My teacher told us it is a good story and I think she is right. The story is great but the fact that this is Captain Redbeard's journal is even better. All the side stories and drawings and sketches make every page an adventure. Anyone who liked the first Lemony Snicket book will LOVE this one.
My brother and I just got this book last week and we have both already finished reading it. It's full of suspense and something happens on every page. We couldn't put it down. If you like stories with cool characters, lots of jokes and a lot of suspense, (or even if you just like pirates) you will REALLY LIKE this book. Hope there are others from this pirate captain. I will defintely read more.
