Meet the Author

A manga artist for over ten years, Watase's debut came in 1989 at the age of 18 when her short story PAJAMA DE OJAMA (An Intrusion in Pajamas) appeared in the monthly Shôjo Comic manga anthology. Since then she has written and drawn some 50 volumes worth of different short stories and long-running manga series, including the fantastically popular FUSHIGI YÛGI, also available in English from VIZ. Her works have provided the basis for two television series, an OVA series, anime soundtrack CDs, and a string of novels.

    I have never read such an amzing book.I was just looking around with my sister one day in a bookstore and we find this book on the ground.I thought this book looked interesting so I start reading it.I got so obsessed with it I had to read the whole series.I showed my friends the books and they loved it. we all read them now.

    speechless

    I started reading Fushigi Yugi last year. i stumbled upon it in the book store and i thought 'hey this looks good' i read it and i was shocked and amazed! I gave it to my friends and they starterd to become obssessed as i did to. I started to buy more and more books and the last book kept me holding my breath. The ending had made me cry! It was such a beautiful ending! i wish it could have kept going! This book is my favorite book i have ever read!!!! I love it!

    Fushigi Yuugi! What can I say? I'm rereading the entire series in celebration! I'm so excited! Yuu Watase is my hero!

    The end of Fushigi Yugi!!!!!!!!!!!!!! sniff sniff sob

    The ending of Fushigi Yugi!!!!!!!!!!!!( Scary music in the backround!)It's a great ending! You have to read it! Well it was a great series, but still Tasuki is my favorite,he's better than Taka!
