Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Judy Katsh
Both the problems and the possibilities that the future holds in store for Planet Earth and its people are showcased in this information packed entry in the DK "Eyewitness Series." Such topics as "Getting around," "Virtual reality," and "Genetic engineering" are addressed in two-page spreads that are jam-packed with information and pictures. The tone of the book is neither rosy nor gloom and doom-there is equal treatment of the technological promise of the future and the environmental legacy from the recent past. The featured topics are neither frivolous nor coldly scientific-there is information about robotic pets as well as environmentally responsible housing. And the mood throughout is neither sensationalistic nor tedious-there's room for both cloning and factory automation in this look at the future. Readers will be able to sift through the information that is presented here and draw their own conclusions about the world that is yet to come.

A great book about future inventions and household objects

There is even a timeline of Predicted inventions! It even talks about earth's geography in years to come. Each page shows fasinating inventions of the present, and of course the future!
