It's a big universe and humans are not at the top of the heap, but not for lack of trying. A well written and fun to read story!

Just finished reading Gus Flory's Galaxy of Heroes. It was an exciting space opera. The premise was interesting and the characters were real enough to care about. The action was well written without becoming belabored. I would recommend this to any far-future sci-fi fan who doesn't mind that humans are backwater bumpkins whose main ability seems to be getting underfoot of and killed by two technologically superior and vastly more violent races involved in an interminable interstellar war. I am looking forware to reading the sequel, hopeful that humanity, in all its mutated forms, will rise to the occasion and somehow become master of its own destiny. I give this story 3 1/2 stars.
