Not a hero. Not a villain. Just a man afraid to risk his heart…and hers.
The Happily Ever After Company, Book 1
Aengus Yates broke Suzannah Hennessy’s heart. Twice. As an eight-year-old, she entreated the handsome young rancher to wait. He laughingly rebuffed her and went on to marry his beautiful fiancée. When he abandoned his family years later, Suzannah should have felt justified. Instead, her heart broke all over again—with disillusionment that the man she loved could do such a thing.
Now fully grown, Suzannah signs up along with her shy, self-conscious best friend to let a matchmaker find them husbands. Love may not be in her future, but there is adventure to be had in the Wild West.
Aengus has done his best to make a fresh start, to banish old betrayals. When Suzannah appears at his door, it’s clear she’s no longer a lovesick child. Now her womanly curves make his heart pound with desire. Yet he dare not trust himself to love again, and he plans to tell her just that…as soon as she stops berating him long enough to let him get a word in edgewise, to tell her he’s just trying to live an honorable life—against some very dishonorable odds.
Warning: Contains a love-soured heroine and a love-starved hero who’d like nothing better than to sweeten things up.

I prefer cleaner books. It would have been 5 stars without the sex.

I thought this was a great story. I laughed with all of the characters, Aengus and Suzannah, along with their sons. There is sexual content, however, the overall storyline is good. To the Author, thank you for an Excellent story.

I thoroughly enjoyed this. Nice read and kept me interested until I finished it the same day. There was some sexual content but it was presented very well in the story line. What a surprising free read, but I tried it because this author has written so much and I was intrigued by the reviews. I hate it though when people give away the story in their reviews. I want to know if it's good and it would be recommended to read, and if it's a decent length, which this one is at 207 pages. I don't want a book report and try not to read them if I realize it is written to tell the story. These people that go into too much detail ruin it for others. I don't even care about their critique when they do that. OK, now that I've vented, I will say I am going to get more of this author. This looks like an entertaining series.

An amazing story of love, feelings of betrayal, & the hurt of rumors intricately woven together to tell two amazing love stories.

I thought this was a very entertaining read, even comical at times. Not your run of the mill story.

Sweet story. It was worth the read. The main characters were destined to be together and you should read it if you looking for a story. If you are not and all you want to do is complain grab another book. This is romance.

I disagree with everyone, I thought he was a jerk who only cared about himself. He was greedy in bed, he was rude to innocent children that didn't realize he wasn't their biological father. I'm sorry your wife was cheating on you but it seems the new wife just caters to all of his needs and tells him he's the greatest and everything he's doing is right. I found the book to be unrealistic and the characters to be lacking in morals and dignity. The side love story was cute however.
