Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Melissa Hower
This is a level 1 book in the "Can You See What I See?" series. In this book children are invited to read words and find hidden objects. On each set of pages there are simple words and short sentences challenging children to find specific objects from a variety of games. The items are hidden among many other game pieces. Each word page includes picture clues at the bottom to help children see the exact objects they are trying to find. For a more challenging game, the picture clues may be covered up prior to searching for the objects. The book also contains an alphabetized word list, which includes labeled pictures of each object to be found throughout the book. The layout of the pictures and the rhyming verse will keep children engaged as they improve their observation skills. This would be a good book to keep children busy in the car. The picture clues which accompany the words make it easy for even beginning readers to find the objects without help from adults. Reviewer: Melissa Hower
