Editorial Reviews

All Music Guide - Stephen Thomas Erlewine
Garbage's self-titled debut has all the trappings of alternative rock -- off-kilter arrangements, occasional bursts of noise, a female singer with a thin, airy voice -- but it comes off as pop, thanks to the glossy production courtesy of drummer Butch Vig. Not only is the sound of the record slick and professional, but all the songs are well-crafted pop songs. Unfortunately, only a handful of the songs are memorable, but those that are -- "Vow" and "Queer," in particular -- are small, trashy alternative pop gems.

    great CD!

I found this Cd at Value Village and decided to buy it because I was looking for something different. I'm glad I bought it! Shirley is a great singer and the songs are really good. My favorite is Only Happy When It Rains.

    Fantastic!

Really good songs. This has sad lyrics but the level of songs is good. It is good to notice that still can be done good punk songs. Shirley is a great singer! She has really relaxing voice. This is too Good to be called garbage!!!!

Anyone who has not yet heard of Garbage or the incredible frontwoman, Shirley Manson (the ultimate 'Supervixen'), has probably been living under a rock! This debut album was intense with angry-girl lyrics that shake your head as well as your hips! This cd was the best I have heard in a long while and they only get better! Keep rockin'!
