Library Journal - Library Journal
There's no help for it: One of the Forsythe sisters must find a rich husband and save the family from poverty. So when a chance invitation from the Duchess of Carlisle lands them at a house party at a charming country estate, they know that this is their chance. But their plans go awry. A botanically minded duke who wants to be loved for himself, a sympathetic but stubbornly mercenary heroine, and a cast of enjoyable secondary characters (in particular, the enigmatic MacDougal) keep the pages turning. This well-written Regency provides an interesting perspective on love, money, and security. Hern (A Change of Heart, 1995) lives in San Francisco, California.

GREAT - GREAT - GREAT! I obviously loved this book. This is my first book by this author and I am looking forward to many more. I am glad I didn't read the viewer from 3-25-12 because she gives the ending away. I loved all the character's - great depth and an interesting story. I loved how it unfolded - WONDERFUL READ!!

I love light historical romances, but found this one lacking. The story & circumstances seemed overly forced to fit the story. I can suspend reality as well as the next person, but this seemed too extreme for my taste.
