Fosfax
...an onionskin plot, as layer after layer gets stripped away in new revelations--each revelation sends the story in a new direction. Carl creates a fine set of characters with a healthy dose of strengths and weaknesses--she spices up the mixture with a dash of humor and interesting realism. When it all gets worked out in the end, the results are heartwarming (and a bit surprising, too)--after all, a garden of thorns is likely to have some roses in it as well, and this one has some nice ones.
